Shipping and Receiving Pay: $17/hr
Shipping and Receiving Hours: 6am – 2.30pm
Shipping and Receiving Job Summary
Accurate accounting and distribution of incoming materials and the timely delivery of Consort Display Group products requires utmost attention to detail on the part of company shipping personnel. The Traffic Coordinator will handle outbound shipments and verify incoming shipments.
Shipping
- Verify contents of outgoing shipments against job ticket or purchase order to assure correct item and quantity are prepared for shipment.
- Determine most appropriate method of shipment and enter shipment details into computer.
- Package and seal cartons; band and wrap pallets.
- Affix shipping label and packing slip to package(s); stencil or record identifying information on cartons as requested.
- Arrange for pickup of orders which cannot ship via UPS or FedEx.
- Close out shipping systems daily.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Receiving
- Compare identifying information and counts, weights or other measures of incoming items to verify against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders or other records.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Operate lift truck or hand truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Forward all inbound paperwork to accounting department.
- Route and deliver received items to appropriate departments and/or inventory locations.
Production Other Duties
- Assemble various subassemblies and components of finished goods; assemble finished units from components.
- Set up, calibrate and operate cutting, drilling, gluing and other production equipment.
- Prepare parts, materials and paperwork for outside processing of materials.
- Assist with other production responsibilities as assigned.
