The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the maintenance, tooling, and engineering departments, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.

Responsibilities:
Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Collaborates with the Director of Operations & Director of Engineering to set and assess priorities across teams.
Assess cost effective and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality, safety, and CER project standards.
Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansion, coordinate outside contractors and vendors.
Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material, and personnel.
Manages the engineering staff and assigns task to engineering and technical personnel.
Create new processes and procedures or update to current ones to address and provide a foundation for continuous improvement.
Assure deliverables and other technical documentation including BOMs, routings and engineering drawings are accurate prior to final release of documentation.
Work closely with product management, product engineering, production management, and quality to prevent problems with products, processes, and tooling/fixtures.
Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department.
Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
Prepares and implements the capital expense and departmental budgets.
Generate KPIs to measure and report on the success of the team. Measure team performance as well as our performance against customer expectations.
Formulate weekly status reports and forward for Operations Director.

Skills:
Green-Black Six Sigma Certification.
Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Google Suite.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
7-10 years

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Management.

Experience: 7 - 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a supervisor position.

Skills/Knowledge: Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires strong project management and team building skills, and ability to establish priorities and work direction. Strong analytical, problem-solving, supervisory, and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Suite / related software to prepare budgets and records. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

Physical Activities/Demands: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Able to support engineering projects in areas such as roof access, confined space, LOTO. Ability to be active in a manufacturing environment.
