JOB SUMMARY:

Manufacturing Support sets up wire forming machines according to the shop order schedules readying equipment for the efficient production of steel wire work pieces. Manufacturing Support plays a critical role in maintaining timely parts production and customer quality requirements. The role supports the production of components that meet specifications while supporting production quotas. The Manufacturing Support role is an important part of the Production Team that observes the highest standards of safety and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Set up and operate all machinery and equipment including Drilling Tables, Bend tables, Hydraulic Press, Chamfer machine, Threader/Reducer, and Cold Heading equipment.

- Determine customer component-specific requirements prior to machine setup by reading and interpreting supplied drawings and other supporting materials.

- Determine equipment setup parameters and locate and appropriate fixtures and dies prior to setting up equipment.

- When setting up equipment and machines utilize checking fixture and other standard measuring equipment properly including but not limited to height gauge, calipers, radius gauges, pin gauges, ruler.

- Prior to completing setup inspect parts to for compliance with customer specifications and ensure the efficient running and safe operation of production equipment and machinery.

- Adjust machines during production runs to ensure the parts produced continue to meet quality standards. When required perform troubleshooting to rectify dimensional or tolerance issues.

- Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality and work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.

- Perform preventative maintenance on machines.

- Report any machinery issues to management.

- Attend all safety and production trainings.

- Support customer needs by working overtime as needed.

- Maintain a clean and safe work area and report safety concerns to management.

- Comply with all safety and health regulations.

- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.

- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or higher (associate degree preferred). Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATIC SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
