JOB TITLE: Marine Technician

LOCATION: Candlewood East Marina – 204 Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, CT 06804

TERMS: This is a full-time position that requires seasonal weekend hours. Standard work hours are as follows:

• Monday – Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm
• Saturdays during Spring and Fall seasons

REQUIREMENTS: There are several boat show events throughout the year that will require working past 5:00pm

Candlewood East Marina is a three-generation family-owned business offering new and pre-owned boat sales, a year-round boat service center and a private waterfront marina and club located on Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, CT. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Diagnose and Repair Boats
• Conduct Quality Checks
• Perform Scheduled Maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Experience with the operation of powerboats ranging in 17ft to 30ft
• Knowledge of Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, and/or PCM
• Be passionate about producing the highest quality of work; understand the impact of enthusiastic, sincere service
• Have an entrepreneurial spirit, be self-motivated, well organized and possess a high attention to detail
• Good work ethic with ability to take direction, learn, and deliver excellent results
• Have a valid Connecticut Drivers License with a clean driving record
• A valid Connecticut Boaters license is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Marine Tech: 1 year (Required)
• Volvo Penta: 1 year (Preferred)
• PCM: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mercury MerCruiser: 1 year (Preferred)
• Automotive service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Yamaha: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
• Boater's License (Preferred)
