Hackley Community Care (HCC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center located along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline in Muskegon, Michigan. Our staff of 300 brings comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health and support services to families in greatest need in Muskegon County and surrounding areas.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible to design and execute effective branding, marketing and communication strategies and activities for HCC. Responsibilities include management, coordination, and/or oversight of signage, advertising, company website, social media platforms, media relations, events planning, community outreach and other activities that cultivate a positive image and helps achieve HCC organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or other position relevant field or comparable experience.
  • 5+ years related work experience; preferably in a leadership role and including staff supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading marketing and communications initiatives and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of media, social media, marketing, and promotional platforms.
  • Exceptional planning skills of events, activities, and projects from planning stage to implementation, including time management, goal setting, multitasking and prioritization.
  • Excellent writing skills with in-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy and social media Superlative verbal and presentation skills with the ability to confidently represent HCC in the community, at events, public relations events and in delivering on-air presentations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the health needs, socio-economic conditions, and resources available to the community preferred.
  • Embraces diversity and possesses interpersonal ability to build trusting and collaborative relationships with leadership teams, staff, patients, and community partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills Knowledge of Microsoft office required. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other specialized programs preferred.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to):

  • Develops and implements strategies that will capitalize on opportunities to promote services and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication.
  • Works collaboratively with executive and departmental leadership to determine effective strategies to best promote the services and mission of the organization.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that brings awareness, promotes, and supports the organization’s mission.
  • Oversees the workflow and work assignments of direct report(s) and ensures effective collaboration and consistent, quality work.
  • Drafts proposals for special communications projects; presents on and promotes these projects to executive leadership.
  • Seeks new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of services, key events and changes in the organization including the launch of new products, new sites, special events and other topics of interest. Prepares and delivers presentations in the company to share information.
  • Represents the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way.
  • Develops and implements all aspects and creative oversight of all media relations.
  • Negotiates and manages all media contracts, vendor relationships relative to all HCC advertising.
  • Writes and edits all copy for publications and advertising and coordinates the development of HCC brochures, fliers, posters, and special event items.
  • Oversees organizational signage, website, and social media platforms.
  • Works with CEO and CFO on annual budget for all media
  • Attends community and faith-based events that promotes HCC services to those in need and increase access to services.
  • Represents HCC in community collaborations, in coordination with CEO.
  • Conducts market and public opinion research; conducts surveys and/or focus groups with HCC patients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
