What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massage therapy and body treatments in a professional manner and within state regulations codes.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent experience/training. A minimum of one-year experience as a licensed massage therapist. Meet state regulations regarding massage therapy certification. Ability to provide therapeutic massages. Ability to accomplish necessary tasks on a computer. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide great service by providing guests/clients with the service of therapeutic massages, which shall not include diagnosis or any service or procedure. Take personal responsibility by maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and general appearance of the massage rooms, locker rooms, wet areas (steam room, whirlpool or Jacuzzi baths) and the dry saunas in the locker room specific to the therapist's gender. Ensure safety & security by notifying the Director of Spa of any problems or potential hazards, safety and health concerns or related issues surrounding guest/client safety. Checking that sheets, towels, robes, sandals, and water are available for guest/client use during spa visits. Being aware of massage appointments, cancellations, and rescheduled appointments by communicating frequently with front area personnel. Be responsible for “on call” scheduling and available to work during Spa hours. Answer the telephone identifying your department, yourself and offering assistance. Taking appointments either by phone or in person and recording the transactions in the appropriate area. Maintaining a good rapport with guests and Resort personnel.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to work assigned shift/work schedule. Ability to carry out tasks, written or verbal, assigned by Management. Be able to sell spa retail and be knowledgeable of spa products

ENVIRONMENT: Indoor setting, with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA – US only):

  • Requires constant standing and occasional walking.
  • Requires frequent crouching, kneeling, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires frequent manual dexterity, fine, and gross motor skills.
