Material Handler
The material handler safely loads and unloads materials on trucks for shipment. Ensuring that all paperwork required to load and unload material is correct before moving material’s. They routinely bring material into the building for material processing for multiple machines. They also are required to keep materials stored in their location and maintain a clean and fluid work area. This position requires working in the elements and operating overhead cranes as well as forklifts.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.
Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
Experience:
- Safe operation of a forklift. Prefer previous experience with large and/or long loads. Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
- Understands steel materials, shapes, sizes and grades of material.
- Overhead crane operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure is required.
