Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the plant by performing the following duties
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads Purchase Order, Packing Slip, Receiving Documents, or Receiving Check Weigh Form to determine items to be received, moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, odor, allergen type, or product code.
- Forwards items to proper department.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Accurately records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Uses computer/tablet, and scanner to enter records.
- Completes various worksheets.
- Drives vehicle to transport items to warehouse, shipping or plant.
- Maintains inventory records.
- Cross training as required in the following areas - Bulk Unloading, Staging, Cycle Counting, Daily Warehouse Inspections.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Manufacturing software.
- Current Driver's License and the ability to successfully complete Griffith Foods Forklift training program.
