At the Space Dynamics Laboratory, we take pride in and highly value our employees. We are seeking a Material Resource Planner to manage internal material and fabrication activities. The role includes supporting spacecraft programs through part and material procurement, tracking and facilitating multiple internal processes, and delivery of organized kits to programs while maintaining traceability. This will include both mechanical and EEE parts. A successful candidate will have a balance of technical and leadership skills necessary to effectively work with various engineering disciplines and service centers while achieving schedule milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with engineering to identify required parts and materials
  • Coordinating with programs regarding fabrication timelines, need dates, etc.
  • Working with purchasing and internal fabrication groups to ensure items are available on time
  • Tracking parts through internal processing such as cleaning, inspections, coatings, etc
  • Internal part expediting as needed
  • Ensuring parts and materials meet specifications and quality standards
  • Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduate, GED, or some higher education
  • 5+ years’ experience in material resource planning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in interacting in a cross functional department environment
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to identify and work through problems that may arise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with other team members for completion of required tasks
  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NASA or aerospace industry standards
  • Experience with cleanroom or contamination control processes
  • Familiar with EEE parts and specifications
  • Familiar with processing of machined parts
  • Experience working with spaceflight hardware
  • TS security clearance or equivalent
