Job Description:
AriensCo, a global leader in the outdoor power equipment industry, has an opportunity at their new Shepherdsville, KY distribution center for a Materials Technician. Come and join a company synonymous with quality and family.
THE DAY TO DAY…

Plan and coordinate the flow of purchased components to support all processes according to established manufacturing plans and lead times

Train, coach and coordinate the activities of material handlers and parts pickers within their assigned areas. Improve and ensure compliance with established standard work

Proactively contact suppliers in order to expedite and de-expedite in coordination with Material Leader

Launch purchase orders to obtain material
-
Involve supply management team to obtain action, when necessary

Manage the process in place to issue signals to suppliers to deliver material to assigned assembly / manufacturing areas (electronic Kanban, Kanban cards, labels, etc.) Respond to failed purchase orders to resolve supplier delivery issues, respective to area

Order materials and supplies as needed

Coordinate problem solving activities and implements corrective actions for the root causes of all material related production interruptions

Responsible for the 6S activities and production control board maintenance, in coordination with the Material Leader

Maintain the Manufacturing Order (MO) system and/or purchase orders, respective to area

Coordinate the disposition of all material rejects, respective to area
-
Maintain pull systems for assigned areas of responsibility

Monitor deliveries for timeliness and problem-solves late deliveries with the supplier

Communicate all concerns that may cause delays in production with material leaders, participating in development of alternate plans

Develop, improve, and maintain visual inventory management (Kanban cards, dedicated baskets, supermarket signs, labels, etc.)

Control the creation of serial numbers for finished goods
THE QUALIFICATIONS…

Associate’s Degree preferred
-
Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training
-
Forklift and high lift certification preferred
THE WORK ENVIRONMENT…
-
Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes
-
Required to work in a hot and humid or cold environment
-
Required to stand/walk at least 8 hours per day
-
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, 35 lbs frequently, push, pull, twist, reach, bend, squat
