Math or Science Tutor/Specialist Job at Concordia College
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Success Specialist is responsible for providing supplemental, inspirational instruction at the Center for Student Success, particularly in the subject areas of mathematics and/or science. The Specialist supports students who are striving for success and adapts learning resources to meet students needs. The Specialist engages with students success teams and collaborates with course instructors. The Specialist is expected to contribute to the mission and goals of the Concordia Experience on the Bronxville campus and at additional locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide knowledge of course content to students in need of support
- Provide one on one and small group tutoring and instruction
- Guide students through assignments, such as, homework, projects, and presentations
- Develop methodologies, including use of technology, to support students learning
- Write session reports and foster individualized success teams for students
- Conduct classroom visits to promote the Center for Student Success
- Lead seminars designed to develop students skills and success
