SUMMARY: The Mechanic is responsible for mechanical diagnostics, repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline industrial trucks, and any other industrial machinery.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mechanic conducts regular on-site surveys of equipment to determine needed repairs. Troubleshoots and makes appropriate repairs, including fabrication and welding. Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment. May change tires, batteries and other parts. May also be responsible for Cargo Tank testing to ensure that U.S. DOT specifications are being met.

SIGN ON BONUS: New Experienced Mechanics will receive a sign-on bonus of $3,500

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. Technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience with diesel and gasoline engines, and heavy equipment repair.

OTHER: Forklift certification is preferred and may be required after completion of the introductory period. Class A CDL is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access and Excel.

Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment. Ability to analyze complex information requests and determine complex trends. Ability to adapt to changing work demands. Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent technical decisions in order to make timely and effective repairs and maintenance. Knowledge of and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment. Knowledge of office practices, procedures and etiquette. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard, viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
