ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.? Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Comprehends technical literature (i.e. equipment and operating manuals), safety literature (i.e. lockout/tagout procedures, safety bulletins, MSDS sheets), and plant policy manuals.
- Understands production processes and operation of machinery for troubleshooting purposes.
- Completes Maximo entries for work orders.
Qualifications to be considered for the role:
- Broad Technical training (high school plus 1 to 2 years of apprenticeship/applied trades training).? Training requires a basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, PLC programs, DC drive motors, AC drive motors and various types of precision measuring instruments is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years electrical processes required. Multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
- Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.
