Medical Assistant
Full Time will provide services in both of CRCSI Outpatient Offices located in Uniontown, PA and Connellsville, PA.

Position Description:
The Medical Assistant position will provide clinical care as define by their certification and state guidelines as well as administrative care that support the health and wellness of the client.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance to include the understanding of, compliance with, managing and enforcing all clinic processes, policies, CRCSI’s Value Statements (Integrity, Quality of Care, Empowering, Accountability, Teamwork and Communication) and Federal and State Regulations
  • Continued training and education to maintain Medical Assistant Certification
  • Provide and manage to ensure excellent customer service with internal and external customers, including consumers, CRCSI staff, and staff of other organizations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Possess a working knowledge of Outpatient Clinic Operations and Regulatory Compliance
  • Possess a working knowledge of Medical Assistant’s Daily Operations, Processes and Procedures
  • Ability to professionally relate and effectively communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to all internal and external customers, including consumers, CRCSI staff, and staff of other organizations
  • Possess strong technical skills with Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Electronic Health Record data entry, creating and generating reports and proficient with using copier, scanners, printers and portable devices
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, project management, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task across many assignments on a consistent basis and appropriately delegate tasks.
  • Possess willingness to learn, ability to process information and effectively adapt to change quickly
  • Possess analytical skills to work and problem solve independently with minimal supervision
  • Possess strong understanding of compliance to include demonstrating confidentiality and discretion
  • Possess continual use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Possess Monday-Friday schedule flexibility
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Tasks: The following list indicates the general responsibilities of work performed by this position. It does not list a comprehensive inventory of all responsibilities required.

  • Responsible to understand, comply, obtain and document vitals in the client’s EHR prior to their visit with the prescriber
  • Responsible to perform and document in the client’s EHR injections as certified by Pennsylvania Scope of Practice and ordered by the physician
  • Responsible to understand, comply and perform the Pre-Appointment Coordination Process, to include reviewing EHR to ensure all ordered medical test results and/or if applies, hospital discharges records have been obtained
  • Responsible to understand, comply and perform triaging medication phone calls, to resolve all as clinically competently trained and gather complete information needed to assist nurses to handle unresolved medication call
  • Responsible to understand, comply and perform with obtaining medication pre-authorizations
  • Responsible to understand, comply and perform completion of all forms to the best of their clinical knowledge, to include jury duty, school excuses, insurance compensation, animal privilege, etc.
  • Responsible to understand, comply and schedule follow-up appointments according to process and the prescriber’s orders
  • Responsible to identify the need for new and/or revisions of care coordination processes and/or polices to include drafting the new process and/or revisions and submit to the Director of OP Services for consideration and approval
  • Responsible to understand and comply with the Time and Attendance Process
  • Responsible to understand, comply, perform according to the Paid Time Off Process
  • Responsible to resolve a client’s complaint to the best of your ability before engaging the Nurse Manager
  • Other duties appointed to you by Manager or any member of Senior Management as the need arises

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education: Medical Assistant Diploma
Experience: Two year minimum of Medical Assistant experience preferred
Certification: Medical Assistant
Other Requirements:
PA State Criminal
FBI clearance
Child Abuse Certification
