OAK Orthopedics, a part Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC, Chicagoland's premier othropaedic medical practice, has a full time Certified Medical Assistant opening in our Bourbonannais location.

Job Duties:

Performing administrative office procedures including;

  • coordinating appointments and procedures for patients
  • gathering and managing necessary documents (i.e. medical records, test results, etc.)
  • triaging and responding to physician's phone calls as needed

Performing clinical activities and procedures including;

  • obtaining patient history and vital signs
  • preparing and maintaining the examination and procedure room(s)
  • assisting with examinations, procedures and treatments (i.e. applying casts, DME's, removing sutures)
  • administering medications as permitted by law
  • recognizing and responding to emergencies
  • coordinating patient care information with other health care providers
  • documenting information in patient records
  • scheduling surgeries as directed by the physician
  • educating/instructing patients regarding their medical conditions, treatments, medications and other appropriate information
  • ensuring availability of supplies and proper operation of equipment in the examination and procedure rooms
  • assisting in maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • completing other comparable duties and assignments as directed by the physician and/or Clinical Staff Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Previous orthopaedic or pain medicine experience is preferred
  • Schedule will be part time, flexibility is required
  • Able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to document/record information
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well and communicate professionally with physicians, patients and staff in all levels in the organization. Able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Capable of prioritizing and organizing information to achieve a smooth flow of tasks
  • Ability to interpret and explain as extensive variety of instructions. Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts and draw conclusions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
