Premier Healthcare, a member of the YAI Network, is currently seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk for our Manhattan Outpatient Practice.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Ensures medical records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete.
  • Files and/or scan paperwork and reports in EHR and or paper charts
  • Ensure files are stored in the designated area according to storage procedures.
  • Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Responds to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
  • Retrieves medical records from offsite chart storage facilities when needed.
  • Ensures legal requests are communicated effectively to the legal department.
  • Issue medical files to persons and agencies according to laws and regulations.
  • Help with departmental audits and investigations.
  • Complete clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient admission and discharge records.
  • Works with front desk receptionist with auditing records in regard to communication of intake documents needed for patients scheduled daily.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
  • HS Diploma required; Associates preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish required
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
