Description

Our Lab in Latham is looking for a full time Medical Technologist to join their team! The available schedule Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities:
Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.

Maintain records of procedure performance, patient results and quality control in the laboratory.

Report test results following clinic protocols drawing special alerts to physicians and/or nurses on “red flag” results.

Review relevant laboratory reports for extraordinary results and clerical errors before they are reported to the providers; including reports on procedures processed in reference laboratories.

Maintain supplies and equipment in accordance with defined policies and protocols, and logs preventative and remedial maintenance of equipment and performance of equipment, including daily temperature checks.

Perform scheduled proficiency tests.

Requirements

Requirements:
BA degree in Medical Technology.

Successful completion of MT course of study. Active NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.

Minimum of two years laboratory experience, preferably in clinic setting.

Knowledge of medical principles, standards, applications, tests.

Knowledge of how to use/maintain laboratory equipment appropriately.

Ability to exercise independent judgment/decision-making and discretion in reporting/distributing results.
