Spherion Gainesville, FL has a client looking for a Medical Technologist to be responsible for the overall performance of assigned shift(s) and employees within; including laboratory output (testing results/reports), compliance, driving lean initiatives and achieving set metrics. Alachua, FL

Schedule:

Second shift: M-F, 2p – 10:30p, $28.75/hr

Third shift: M-F, 10p – 6:30a, $29.75/hr

Weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6am – 6:30pm, $28/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintains accurate records of all specimens received or sent out of the laboratory

- Monitors status of pending tests

- Reviews worksheets and completed test reports for accuracy

- Assists in maintaining files of all testing performed in the laboratory

- Makes determinations as to the acceptability of specimens and completes appropriate Specimen

- Rejection forms and/or Revision Request forms when necessary

- Performs quality control and quality assurance on equipment and reagents on a routine basis according to established protocols

- Documents quality control and quality assurance procedures

- Monitor and maintain inventory and supplies

- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science topic preferred

- Experience working in a Microbiology Lab preferred

- Licensed as a Medical Technologist by the State of Florida preferred

- Minimum one year experience writing technical documents preferred

- Understanding OSHA requirements
