Ironwood Pig Sanctuary is currently hiring a FT Medication Technician.

Medication Preparation: Thursday - Sunday, 8 hours a day (8A-4P)

Sanctuary Assitant: Monday or Wednesday, 8 hrs a day (8A - 4P)

Medication Preparation Technician - We are looking for a careful, detailed orientated person with good penmanship to work indoors making approximately 500+ peanut butter sandwiches, containing a variety of medications for pot-bellied pigs. The hours are: 8AM - 4PM with a 30-minute paid lunch and break, 4 days per week.

Sanctuary Technician - Tasks may include watering, feeding, giving fluids for hydration, morning and afternoon medical rounds, handing out medicated sandwiches, special meals, treating ailments, injuries, illness, clean-up and a variety of misc tasks as needed. The shift is 8A - 4P, with a 30-minute paid lunch and break, 1 day per week.

The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary is a premier pot-bellied pig sanctuary in a very rural area of southern Pinal County, in Marana, AZ. We take in unwanted and abused pigs primarily from Arizona with a few from surrounding states. We have rescued over 2400 pigs in the 20+ years of our existence. Ironwood is accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and by some experts, we are the largest pot-bellied pig sanctuary in the United States. In addition, we are one of the very few sanctuaries that continues to takes in an average of 85 pigs per year.

• We are looking for staff members that are punctual, reliable, rarely miss work, love animals, fast learners, and who work well with others.
• We offer long-term employment, medical, dental and vision insurance by 90 days, and up to 40 hours of accrued paid sick/vacation time each year.
• We are in a remote area northwest of Tucson so only those living in central to northwest Tucson, Red Rock, Marana, Avra Valley, Catalina, Eloy, Casa Grande, or Florence areas are close enough for a reasonable drive to the sanctuary. We are less than 1 hour's drive from all the above areas.

Requirements for any qualified candidates:

* Must have your own reliable vehicle to get to/from work.

* Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

* Must be able to work as part of a team and individually.

* Must be able to work in a physically demanding position

* Must be vaccinated against Covid 19 or willing to be tested upon request.

* No experience necessary, we will train you.
