JOB TITLE
Membership Activities Administrator (aka Technical Activities Administrator)

THE LOCATION
Richardson or Houston, Texas preferred. This role will be mostly virtual and we will consider remote U.S. or Alberta, Canada locations with some limitations.

THE TEAM
This position is part of the Members Programs & Services team with a focus on Oil & Gas Reserves.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Does working with a mission-based global organization and contributing to our online technical communities sound rewarding? This role provides administrative support to other programs, including Technical Sections (chapters), Petroleum Engineering Certification (training), and Member Awards.

To be considered for this role, you bring at least two (2) years of experience with online community knowledge, and experience with social media platforms and webpages. You should be a strong communicator with the ability to provide detailed verbal and written exchange with staff, vendors and members. You likely bring the ability to analyze processes and document those processes. Your sense of curiosity naturally leads you to ask questions, lending to your ability create training materials, as well as provide assistance to users.

As a solid multi-tasker, you thrive on constant change, while also being super detailed. This includes reviewing and editing community content.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE IN THIS ROLE

  • Evaluates and proposes enhancements for the online community platform, and collaborates with IT, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
  • Works with volunteers to update and assist in maintaining section microsites; maintains content on unit-specific pages of SPE.org
  • Designs and maintains user training material for online communities and conducts staff and member training programs, including how to edit webpages
  • Helps develop and implement user engagement strategies for online communities and works with various volunteers to promote engagement
  • Works with other SPE staff to develop marketing plans to promote online communities and content
  • Evaluates and interprets reports related to online community activities and engagement

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the use and dynamics of online communities and professional social media platforms.
  • Proficient in reviewing and editing community content
  • Experience in crafting comprehensive help documentation for both members and staff.
  • Familiar with marketing concepts and practices
  • Exposure to volunteer groups
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Basic HTML (bonus skill)
