Position Summary

Provides a quality customer service experience while assisting with the registration of patients. Provides counseling regarding the financial aspects of the patient’s accounts. Works with Under Arrangement staff to obtain registration/billing information.


Position Accountabilities

Maintain established departmental policies and procedures to include the quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards

Completes patient accounts accurately and efficiently.

Updates patient profile and accounts with current information.

Directs patients to appropriate department with correct paperwork.

Obtains necessary signatures and forms to complete account.

Abides by pre-collections procedures.

Educates patients on billing and payment options.

Receives payments and issues receipts. Calculates discounts as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Completes assigned tasks in timely manner.

Is accurate and conscientious.

Focuses on work and manages time wisely.

Asks for and offers help when needed.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Reports policy violations.

Comes to work on time for scheduled shifts.

Follows time-off procedures and notifies supervisor as needed of emergent situations.

Is accurate with time clock and notifies supervisor in timely manner of any needed time edits.

Attends meetings as required.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.

Seeks ways to improve self and department.

Responds to e-mails and phone calls within 1 business day.

Is polite and professional.

Speaks kindly of coworkers and customers.

Informs team members and supervisors of information as needed.

Notes account and schedule as needed.

Minimum Education - High School or equivalent

Minimum Experience - On the job experience or equivalent in admitting procedures

Preferred Experience - Healthcare admissions, collections, customer service training, insurance

knowledge
