Metrology Technician
$23.88/hour - plus overtime

Our client in the Chittenango area is seeking a Metrology Technician. As the Metrology Technician you will be responsible for the development and implementation of CMM Programs for part inspection to ensure that customer requirements are met and provide programming assistance to engineering on new development parts. You will need to be available to work overtime in this role.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Able to set up and layout castings, wax tools, wax patterns, ceramic cores and gages using standard layout equipment including manual and programmable CMMs.
• Responsible for CMM program development, modification and implementation in close association with Engineering.
• Operate, program and document layout of various manufacturing metal castings Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Blue light scanner, or other measuring equipment.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Interpret, read, download, and understand complex blue prints, CAD models and apply that understanding to interpret the results of layout inspection data.
• Responsible to review results, assess failures and anomalies resulting from measurement issues during the process to ensure layout results are accurate and validated
• Must be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving.
• A proven track record of results, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; results oriented and self-motivated.
• Familiar with and committed to continuous improvement principles
• Ability to effectively handle multiple activities simultaneously and successfully function in a fast paced, cross functional manufacturing environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with Management and internal and external customers both with verbal and written communication methods.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workplace and following detailed work instructions to meet customer requirements.

• AS degree or equivalent in related field or 3+ years related experience and training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, Tecnomatix Quality software (3D programming), Atos professional (Blue Light), MeasureMax. Unigraphics
