- perform independent laboratory research which will result in the development and application of NGS sequencing analysis which will detect and identify both known and novel viral members of viral family and genus;
- provide laboratory testing support for ongoing SARS CoV-2 (COVID 19) diagnosis and investigation, and assist in SARS CoV-2 genome characterization;
- run bioinformatics analysis to high throughput sequencing data generated from ongoing SARS CoV-2 and Mers CoV investigation, zoonotic emerging disease surveillance study, human disease surveillance study and outbreak investigation of serious human disease of unknown etiology;
- provide data analysis support for ongoing SARS CoV-2 diagnosis and investigation, and assist in SARS CoV-2 genome characterization;
- prepare scientific reports, summaries, presentations, manuscripts and other technical documents
- perform activities associated with lab safety, specimen and laboratory quality management system (QMS);
- provide training for new fellows and visitors as needed
