Middle School Principal Job at Addison Northwest School District
The Vergennes Union Middle High School is seeking a highly-motivated, visionary, student-centered leader to serve as our Middle School Principal. VUMHS currently serves 411 students in grades 7-12, with 80 dedicated faculty and staff, and supportive, active parents. We are excited to transition to a grade 6-8 Middle Level structure with a designated principal that enhances the quality of middle school learning through the creation of a robust model that is developmentally nurturing to middle grades learners. Vergennes Union Middle School is located in the Addison Northwest School District and covers a 40 square mile area in Addison County, Vermont.
Our Middle School serves students from the towns of Addison, Ferrisburgh, Panton, Vergennes, and Waltham. We are conveniently located between Burlington and Middlebury along the beautiful shores of Lake Champlain. Vergennes Union Middle School is dedicated to creating a student-centered learning environment designed to meet the intellectual, developmental, and social/emotional needs of all learners by: strengthening personal connections; developing systems of support at all levels;increasing student voice, choice and agency; engaging in courageous conversations to address systemic issues of race and equity;providing relevant and purposeful learning. We are looking for an administrator skilled in leading systems change in the areas of proficiency-based learning, universal design for learning, place-based learning, and Restorative Practices.
Qualifications include a Masters Degree, Vermont certification (or eligibility) as a principal (6-8), and a distinguished record as a middle school teacher and/or administrator.
