Mining Support Engineer - Nevada Job at Canary Systems, Inc.
Canary Systems is an electronic hardware and software engineering firm specializing in civil engineering related monitoring and instrumentation applications. Projects include monitoring of large open pits, earth and concrete dams, bridges, tunnels and buildings. We operate in several markets including construction, mining, geotechnical, industrial and public infrastructure.
We are looking for a person with a mining and instrumentation background to expand our existing team in Elko, NV and provide field and database services for our Nevada projects. This person will support the implementation of our systems at various projects, particularly in the Nevada and Utah areas. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide installation services
- Prepare project documentation
- Monitor client systems and databases
- Prepare status and operation reports
- Provide training and other services
- Integrate and process various geotechnical data sources
- Develop methods for correlating and understanding disparate data sources
- Configure alerts and automated reporting based on data processing methodologies
- Monitor client systems and databases
Expertise/Background Desired:
- Associates degree or higher in a STEM related field
- Geotechnical instrumentation and technologies
- Geotechnical data reduction and presentation methods
- Communications, including wireless and wired technologies
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including 2D and 3D systems
- Scripting/programming experience including Python, VBScript, SQL
- Software, including database technologies such as Firebird and PostgreSQL
