Mobile Psych Rehab Specialist or Worker

Position Description:
The Rehabilitation Worker is a Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation (MPR) team member. The candidate for the position will assist individuals in the community to develop, enhance and retain skills and competencies in the living, learning, working and social environments of one’s life so the person can live in the environment of their choice and participate in the community. The MPR Worker promotes the philosophy of recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation through evidence-based practices in order to maximize the degree to which each client is in charge of their own services and their own life.

Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities:

  • Delivers face-to-face MPR services to individuals in their preferred community settings such as their home, school, work site, volunteer setting, etc.
  • Learns and applies the practitioner skills and tools of the Boston University approach to psychiatric rehabilitation, including assessing and developing readiness, setting an overall rehabilitation goal, functional assessment, resource assessment, rehabilitation planning, direct skills teaching and resource development.
  • Works directly with families and other support persons in the member’s life.
  • Performs all record-keeping according to state and payor standards and regulations and within a timely fashion.
  • Participates in bi-weekly supervision to review caseload and rehabilitation progress.
  • Participates in an orientation/overview of psychiatric rehabilitation within the first year of hire.
  • Participates in psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner skills training and continually participates in ongoing technical assistance to improve skills.
  • Participates in 18 hours of yearly training with 12 hours being specific to Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
  • Continually works toward the required education to become a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be necessary for quality service delivery.

  • Ability to understand and follow all regulatory compliance standards including compliance with CRCSI established Processes, Policies, CRCSI’s Value Statements (Integrity, Quality of Care, Empowering, Accountability, Teamwork and Communication) and Federal and State Regulations
  • Ability to professionally relate and effectively communicate information verbally and in writing to all internal and external customers, including consumers, CRCSI staff, and staff of other organizations
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, project management, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task across many assignments on a consistent basis
  • Ability to work independently and possess an awareness and understanding of appropriateness of when to obtain supervisory confirmation, validation, input, and/or approval
  • Possess willingness to learn, ability to process information, and effectively adapt to change quickly
  • Possess continual use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Ability to independently safely drive themselves and transport others throughout the community as needed in the provision of service
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently use an Electronic Health Record.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health related field
Experience: One year of mental health experience
Certification: None Required
Other Requirements:
Proficient in basic computer skills
PA State Criminal Clearance
FBI Clearance
Child Abuse Certification
Valid Driver’s License
