Montana Public Health Corps is a state AmeriCorps program focused on collaborating with local residents to make their communities stronger. These communities are built on a common belief that we succeed together. MPH Corps members are advocates in our communities as they assist them in addressing the modern-day challenges of frontier life such as limited access to mental and behavioral health services. Eastern Montana is an amazing place to explore and we strongly encourage a healthy work/life balance. Members are given time to tour the beautiful states of Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota and our many parks, such as Teddy Roosevelt, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks and Makoshika and Medicine Rocks State Parks, among others. Member Duties : Tribal communities are underserved with mental and public health services. Montana Public Health (MPH) Corps, in connection with Fort Peck Tribal Health, seeks to address these challenges. Members would assist with health reporting and data analysis to address public health issues. Members will work closely with tribal health members to identify and recommend changes to the internal process to ensure future response to emergencies will be as effective as possible. Specific tasks will include community outreach, identify needs for development, and provide support to decision makers and end users to understand, define, and document current and possible future goals, needs and requirements. Qualified members must demonstrate an attitude of cultural competence, sensitivity, and leadership. Strong communication skills and adaptability are required.
