Summary

Creative Business Innovations assisting an automotive supplier client with an MRO Buyer position. This is direct hire with the client company. This company offers the choice of a 4/10 or 5/8 schedule after 6 months of service! The first 6 months will have a schedule of Monday-Friday 8-5.

Scope and Purpose of Position

  • Effectively issue MRO purchase orders. Request, quote, create, send, and confirm all MRO purchases. Responsible for identifying cost savings opportunities for continuous improvement.

Tasks of the Position

  • Improve customer satisfaction while considering cost savings opportunities
  • Comply with international rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for weekly and/or monthly reports (graphics) to management on corresponding KPI’s
  • Supports engineering on equipment purchases and logistic negotiations
  • Supports new systems and implementation of new or revised processes
  • Review and take actions on daily requisitions received
  • Work with requisitioners to clearly identify requirements for best purchase price and delivery T&C’s.
  • Manage contracts and purchase agreement negotiations on repetitive orders
  • Issue purchase orders as per company policy
  • Daily reviews on past due and coming due purchase orders – update QAD system accordingly
  • Work with requisitioner for a proactive approach on repetitive orders (Consumables, office supplies, etc.)
  • Responsible for the MRO purchasing processes (request, quote, create, send, confirm, receive, and pay)
  • Issue and follow up on RFQ’s (Requests for quote) as needed
  • Receive, compare and document results on RFQ’s received from suppliers to select the best options
  • Follow up on purchase order confirmation and deliveries
  • Work with suppliers to correct purchase price variances and invoice/payment issues.
  • Responsible for vendor returns, credits and/or debit notes from MRO non-conforming materials
  • Responsible for MRO Process Maps, SOP’s and SWD’s, Identify Gaps in the process and take required actions.
  • Schedule periodic training session for requisitioners as needed
  • Keep either Electronic or paper files updated for audit purposes.
  • Maintain record (e-files) retention as required by company policy
  • Responsible for developing and executing supplier approval process.
  • Responsible for obtaining required supplier documentation and to complete and submit new supplier forms.
  • Responsible for maintaining Supplier master files (approved suppliers) up to date
  • Follow up on any NCR to an effective corrective action from MRO Supplier.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities, for continuous improvement projects
  • Lead, participate, and support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Supports product development department goals and objectives
  • Other duties assigned by Immediate Supervisor
  • Adds new MRO suppliers to the system as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Practical knowledge of negotiation, preparation and issuance of MRO purchase orders
  • Practical knowledge of contracts and purchase agreement negotiations on repetitive orders
  • Practical knowledge of Incoterms (International Commercial Terms)
  • Practical knowledge of freight logistics for MRO Items
  • Capable of preparing cost analysis on required projects
  • Knowledge of international rules and regulations
  • Being a great team player, positively working together with everyone to get the job done.
  • Manages several tasks and projects at any given time.
  • Possesses strong organizational, priority/time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Speaks effectively before groups of customers or associates
  • Effectively written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, customer schedules, operations standards, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel and Power point at Intermediate or advanced levels).
  • Must build and sustain positive communication with customers, suppliers, company peers, and associates.

Job Requirements

  • Able to travel for supplier visits and trade shows
  • Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory for site visits.
  • Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs. and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 feet.
  • Supervise and support all company policies including ISO 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS adherence (where applicable) and Company Associate Handbook and Safety Manual.

Qualification (Education / Training)

College degree, or 4-5 years of MRO experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
