Job Title: Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Hourly

Reports To: Child Advocacy Center (CAC) Director

Work Schedule: Full-Time

General Statement of Duties:

The Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective communication, efficient processes, substantial training, and consistent adherence to NCA Accreditation Standard as they relate to the MDT’s. They will conduct the multi-disciplinary team meetings, establish, and maintain healthy relationships among the MDT’s and their partner agencies and manage the NCA Trak database client.

Primary Duties:

1. Coordination of monthly MDT meetings in San Juan and McKinley counties, assuring that all members/agencies receive timely notification of meetings, agendas, and minutes.

2. Establish and maintain:

a. strong support of the CAC/MDT response to investigations of child abuse.

b. open communication and positive relationships between/with all partner agencies and representatives, including conducting outreach and orientation to new members.

3. Facilitate dialogue with MDT partners related to identification of cases in need of services, coordination of those services, and conflict resolution if necessary (under the advisement of the CAC Program Director and/or Childhaven CEO).

4. Identify and coordinate trainings for San Juan and McKinley County MDTs relating to identifying, reporting, investigating, prosecuting, and treating child abuse and neglect.

5. Disseminate information to team members pertaining to upcoming training opportunities and relevant victim resources.

6. Work closely with MDT members to review county MDT protocols annually and assure that they align with current national recommendations for standards of best practice in the field and are signed every 3 years, at minimum, or as new signing members join.

7. Provide and seek input on case monitoring, case review and case tracking with others involved in ongoing cases, in collaboration with staff from Childhaven and partner agencies.

8. Ensure that all victims and/or their families are provided with high-quality services regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, physical and/or mental ability, sexual preference, and gender identity/expression.

9. Manage, update and maintain NCA database and provide statistical data as requested.

10. Out of town travel is required as needed or directed. Some occasional out of state training.

11. Co-facilitate Child Abuse Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) monthly meetings/Case Review meetings.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge:

1. Demonstrated competency in building positive group dynamics and meeting facilitation.

2. Working knowledge of child development and psycho-dynamics of child abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence and family dynamics.

3. Familiarity with social services, law enforcement and the court system and have the ability to work with a complex network of MDT partner agency personnel.

4. Continuing education in the field of joint investigations of child maltreatment; NCA Standards of Accreditation and emerging topics in the field.

5. Must have excellent computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.

6. Knowledge of local community resources and social service delivery systems

7. Skilled in working with a population diverse in ethnicity, race, religion, socioeconomic background, physical and/or mental ability, sexual preference, and gender identify/expression

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or similar, preferred, OR AA degree plus experience in team facilitation or group dynamics, and minimum of 2 years working in child welfare or criminal justice OR H.S. Diploma or GED plus experience in team facilitation or group dynamics, and minimum of 3 years working in child welfare or criminal justice

2. At least 25 years of age or older to be eligible to drive Childhaven vehicles and a current, Valid NM Driver’s License and clean driving record.

3. Must pass local, state, and federal background checks (including fingerprints.)

4. Must obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification.

5. Bilingual (Spanish/English or Navajo/English) preferred.

6. Must have strong organizational skills, be team oriented, flexible, and self-motivated.

7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

8. Ability to develop positive relationships with community partners, families, co-workers, and team members.

9. Must have prior experience working within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

10. Experience working within Tribal area preferred.

11. Minimum of 24 hours of ongoing training per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
