Job Description
The Department of Music at Wellesley College is looking to hire an instructor in voice to begin teaching in the Fall of 2023. The applicant should demonstrate a collegial personality and experience teaching all aspects of Western classical and musical theater voice in repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary composition, encompassing the genres of opera; French, German, Italian, and Spanish art song; oratorio; and musical theater. Expertise in musical theater repertoire and comfort with teaching belt technique would be an asset as would experience with teaching young students at prep/collegiate/conservatory levels. We are looking to hire someone who has the ability to teach all levels from beginners to those considering a music major and professional career in music. The applicant should demonstrate excellent vocal skills as a singer-actor and be active as a performer. Our ideal applicant must also be able to organize and teach Opera & Musical Theater Workshop (in rotation with the other voice faculty).

This is a part-time, non-benefits-eligible position with a payment structure based on the number of student lessons given. A Master’s Degree is preferred although not mandatory.
