Primary Position Purpose:
The Program Manager in this full-time position will direct the operations of the Center for Indigenous Entrepreneurship, located at the Poeh Marketplace, as funded by the USDA Rural Small Business Development Program the duration of the contract period.

Primary Duties:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Center for Indigenous Entrepreneurship
  • Work with the Poeh Marketplace Manager to promote contacts and sales with new and emerging creative entrepreneurs
  • Coordinate the development of a network of local and regional farmer’s markets, Native art markets and shows, with abbreviated descriptions of requirements to participate in them, as well as links, contacts and web addresses
  • Identify and recruit new participants to sell at the Poeh Marketplace and Kitchen, Farmer’s Market, Pathways

Festival and other seasonal events for venues

  • Work with the POEH to develop a strategic plan and identify the resources needed to provide emerging business owners with the education, support, resources and tools they need to start (beginning entrepreneurs), operate and succeed as small business owners/operators
  • Establish a network of collaborators and contractors to develop, promote and provide a series of entrepreneurial and professional development training programs for the Poeh’s rural arts and farmer’s market entrepreneurs, and enlist their assistance in project development
  • Working with Poeh Marketing to maintain an online bulletin board of the Center’s events, trainings, and resources
  • Assist in development or revision of artist portfolios for use in shows and markets
  • Fundraise to promote long term sustainability of the Center
  • Availability to work weekends and events when necessary

Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelors Degree In Business or a related discipline
  • Experience in working with tribal communities
  • Proficiency with social media platforms

Supervisory Controls:
Incumbent is under general guidance and reports to the Poeh Executive Director. Under general supervision, independently plans and carries out assigned duties and coordinates work within their department. Incumbent makes decisions based on guidelines as well as own judgment. Incumbent is evaluated for accuracy, effectiveness, results, knowledge and customer service.

Guidelines:
Guidelines include Pueblo of Pojoaque standard operating procedures, Tribal Policies and Procedures handbook.

Physical Demands:
Must adhere to all safety precautions and standards.

Work Environment/Working Conditions:
Public and office setting with some travel required. Some bending and light lifting required.
Saturday work schedule required.

Job Related Qualification Standards:

  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other basic computer database entry software.
