Job Description Under minimal supervision, the Neurodiagnostic Technologist II will perform routine and more complex neurodiagnostic procedures, such as long-term monitoring EEG of ICU and EMU patients in outpatient and inpatient facilities through a collaborative approach with the healthcare team. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
Outpatient only Neurodiagnostic Tech II:
1.Under minimal supervision, performs routine and more complex neurodiagnostic procedures (long-term monitoring EEG of ICU and EMU patients) in accordance with the ACNS guidelines.
2.Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates alternatives, which lead to desired outcomes in test administration.
3.Performs department basic and advanced competencies related to neurodiagnostic testing.
4.Performs patient assessment as related to care, such as electrode product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.
5.Follows departmental guidelines to ensure the best patient care possible.
6.Informs manager or designee of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems, and unusual situations, and completes appropriate related documentation according to departmental and hospital guidelines.
7.Communicates effectively with patient/family, department staff, physicians, and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care.
8.Works at alternate locations as needed to support patient care at the discretion of direct supervisor/manager or designee.
9.Is responsible for maintaining continuing medical education and increasing technical competencies.

Experience
Outpatient only Neurodiagnostic Tech II:
- Two to four years of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist in outpatient setting
- Two to four years of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist in outpatient setting
- One year of experience in inpatient setting
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Graduated from a CAAHEP accredited neurodiagnostic program
- One year of experience in pediatric setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ABRET Certified Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Ability to demonstrate competencies key to the position within six months of employment
