The nurse practitioner /PA provides oncology services to patients in conjunction with the Oncology physicians.

The nurse practitioner/PA is an independently licensed profession, functioning within the scope of his/her license, and in accordance with our policies and procedures.

Obtains a complete medical history and physical exam on patients.

.
Integrates and interprets data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic actions as needed.

.
Completes accurate documentation of information in a timely manner.

.
Collaborates with physician(s) in managing care of patients.

.
Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic test or procedures.

.
Develops therapeutic plan of care for all oncology patients in conjunction with the physicians.

.
Identifies and provides for health education needs of patient.

.
Promotes health education and health care through contact with patients in office and community contacts.

.
Makes appropriate referrals to other health care providers.

.
Triages patient phone calls and consults with patients when appropriate.
Monitors of care between visits

.
Presents to community or employer groups on appropriate topics.

.
Adheres to safety practices, reports accidents/hazards and maintains equipment as outlined in hospital policies.

.
Advanced Oncology Certification and at least one year of experience in oncology practice preferred

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, must have successfully completed an approved nurse practitioner / PA program.
