Nuclear Radiology Technologist

Salary negotiable, based on experience

Currently searching for a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our growing Cardiology Department. The Nuclear Technologist will be responsible to prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Cardiology experience preferred. If you have experience in a as Nuclear Technologist at a medium-sized medical practice, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services.
• Ability to obtain IV access and administer nuclear products preferred.
• Processing data and enhancing digital images using advanced computer technology
• Providing images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures
• Evaluating images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation
• Provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
• Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance to established departmental protocol.
• Observes patient during procedure and reports any abnormal activity.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Works under general supervision.

• Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
• Develop treatment procedures for nuclear medicine treatment programs.
• Duties as assigned

Education/Work Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited college or university.
• Must hold an active AZ license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, as well as active NMTCB and MRTBE certifications.
• Current BLS, ACLS and CPR certification required
• Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience in Cardiology clinic.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
