Families First of Minnesota has full-time, full-year Nutrition Coordinator position available for its 2022-2023 Head Start Program year. This position will be officed at The Place in Rochester, MN and will be traveling to the Empowerment Center, Jeremiah Program and Freeborn County Head Start sites as needed. The CCRR Head Start program participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all regulations are met for completing and compiling all records related to the CACFP program. This position is responsible for generating monthly production records, site menus, and reimbursement claims for the Head Start Program. Position coordinates required CACFP training for staff and board members working with contracted food company to assure CACFP compliance. The Nutrition Coordinator also observes that the food served meets CACFP and USDA nutritional guidelines and matches production records that have been prepared in advance on a cycle system to actual meals prepared and/or served. This position functions as a part of the Health Services Advisory Committee.

This exempt position is scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00A.M.-4:30 P.M. Compensation for this position is based off qualifications and starts at $27.00/hour. Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, Life, Long-Term Disability and 403(b) Retirement Savings, in addition to paid vacation, sick leave, holidays and personal holidays.

Our Nutrition Coordinator position requires a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field, one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of educations and experience. A Head Start program must use staff or consultants to support nutrition services who are registered dieticians or nutritionists with appropriate qualifications. A Certified Food Manager Certificate and training according to State Requirements is required. Families First Head Start will support candidates who may need these qualifications, if not already obtained. Experience working with children and families is preferred, but not necessary.
