Position Summary

This position, under the general supervision of the Director, performs paraprofessional administrative work for the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Program (WINGCP). This is the sole administrative support handling decisions on behalf of the director on cadet records, travel, and mail. In addition, this position is privy to sensitive data which includes dealing with the needs of cadets, require in-person and phone contact with parents and other family members, civic groups, schools, and other government agencies. In coordination with the Director, this position handles the day-to-day requirements of the Challenge Academy Headquarters, to include: managing and developing deadlines, prioritizing tasks to completion, input into complex databases to maintain program information and prepare statistical data analysis for reports, assisting departments with Academy/Cadet related requirements and documentation, as well as managing the daily administrative requirements of the office and program.

Salary Information

Starting pay will be $20.46 per hour, plus an excellent benefit package (02-11). For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

A criminal background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process including FBI fingerprint check.

A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Possess a valid vehicle Operator’s License issued in accordance with Wis. Stat. §343.05 or §343.10 (Occupational License).

Acquire and maintain certification in the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training as prescribed by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

All state employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have experience in both of the following areas:

  • experience working as a point of contact, receptionist.
  • experiencing maintaining files or records

Well qualified individuals will have experience in the below:

  • Experience in mail distribution

Ordering Inventory or managing a calendar
