The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking two motivated and highly skilled Office Specialist I's to join our Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) team in the Provo District located in Provo and Heber City, UT.

- 1 job opening - Heber City USOR Office - 2 South Main Suite 2E, Heber City, UT 84032
The Office Specialist I performs the following tasks:
- Travels occasionally to other offices for assigned work.
- Assists clients with disabilities (physical, developmental, psychological and substance abuse).
- Exercises independent judgment in office specialties.
- Performs complex production tasks requiring specialized office skills in addition to comprehensive knowledge of pertinent rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Serves as the focal point for advanced agency-specific assignments.
- Processes a variety of agency documents by reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
- Updates information, using critical thinking skills to evaluate, compare elements for consistency or logical relationship and otherwise take action that may require independent judgment within the scope of the employee's duties.
- Applies agency regulations, policies and procedures.
- Originates correspondence, documentation and other written communication.
- Provides the public and others with information and assistance in completing forms and applications.
- Locates and assembles records and information which may be complex or difficult to identify and which may require substantial research, judgment and subject matter knowledge.
- Prepares and generates recurring reports involving automated processes and thorough subject matter understanding.
- Performs basic accounting functions such as basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable.
- Maintains calendars, schedules and coordinates meetings, trainings, facilities and other activities.
- Assists in the training of vendors and new employees; ensuring an adequate supply of materials.

- Has at least one year of work related experience doing office support functions.
