Student Care Services/Student Conduct and Academic Integrity:
The offices of Student Care Services and Student Conduct and Academic Integrity in OSRR are within the Division of Student Success and Well Being.
The Opportunity:
The Office Support Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the front reception for SCAI/SCS staff providing them with administrative support.
Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the front reception for SCS/SCAI staff with administrative support for both areas of the office.
  • Serve as the first contact for students working with Student Care Services and Student Conduct and Academic Integrity and the campus community by screening phone calls to determine if students need immediate crisis support, connection to campus resources, or appointments with staff.
  • Monitoring and responding to e-mails and telephone calls.
  • Create a professional image for OSRR/SCS/SCAI through responsive, respectful interactions.
  • Assisting scheduled and walk-in students with check-in procedures
  • Follow established OSRR/SCS/SCAI opening and closing protocol.
  • Providing students, employees, and community members with information regarding programs, resources, and services.
  • Provide support to professional staff and OSRR/SCS/SCAI projects as requested in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the internal database and documenting student contacts in the database.
  • Maintaining constant communication regarding urgent student concerns with OSRR/SCS/SCAI staff.
  • Maintaining front counter area and information bins with current information, flyers, publications, etc.
  • Placing facilities work orders, ordering and maintaining supplies inventory.
  • Preparing and organizing any student worker schedules for front desk coverage, if applicable.
  • Alerting OSRR/SCS/SCAI staff to student and staffing issues as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Experience in screening calls and working with students or community members who are experiencing crisis or distressing situations
  • Training in crisis response or mental health intervention
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor
  • Detail oriented, ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently
