Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the clerical coordinator, performs surgery scheduling for OR, Day Surgery and Pre-Admission Testing. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What qualifications you will need:

• Formal training course in medical terminology or equivalent job experience.
• Previous clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Demonstrates good organizational skills.
• Sufficient knowledge of medical terminology and technical terms to accurately transcribe physician’s orders and to complete requisitions.
• Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills.
• Communicates positively with all internal and external customers.
• Basic keyboard and computer skills.
• Meditech experience preferred.
