SUMMARY

The position of Operations Clerk involves fraud prevention, checking back work performed in Banking Centers, and processing corrections and adjustments as needed. Although each individual is assigned distinct and consistent tasks, Operations Clerks work as a team to complete department functions.


The Customer Support department of Savings Bank of Mendocino County handles a wide variety of centralized back office functions, lends support to the Banking Centers, and provides quality customer service over the phone through the Call Center. The ideal candidate in the Operations Clerk position is performance driven, displays strong interpersonal skills, and is highly motivated to contribute to a positive customer experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research items and accounts in order to satisfy customer requests, resolve errors, and identify duplicate or unauthorized transactions.
  • Ability to understand and complete reports involving inclearing items, including exception reports and stop payment reports.
  • Complete review of electronic deposit files, including ATM files and mobile deposit items.
  • Review new account and customer information entered into the system as well as changes made to existing records. Ensure that accounts and titles are being boarded according to procedure, and that all data is in agreement with the customer contract. Work with Banking Center staff to ensure accuracy of information.
  • May be assigned special tasks such as Legal Process, Overdraft Processing, Check Adjustments, or Incoming Fed Check Returns depending on department need.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One year of experience in an office environment with responsibility in clerical duties, data entry, and customer service

PREFERENCES

  • Bilingual skills
  • Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills
  • One year of experience in bank branch operations or bank back office environment
