Relative Dynamics is developing free-space optical communication internet terminals for high-altitude platforms and Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) spacecraft. Our mission is to enable commercial world-wide internet access.

As an Optomechanical Engineer, you are part of a cross-functional team developing optical terminal hardware.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Close collaboration with optical, electrical, and software engineers to define optomechanical requirements and solutions.
• Precision engineering of optomechanical assemblies driven by high performance while minimizing size, weight, power, and cost.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading or contributing to multiple product development efforts, projects, and initiatives.

What You'll Need:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, or relevant field and/or experience.
• 3+ years’ experience working in space flight hardware optomechanical design.
• Optomechanical design skills including CAD (e.g., Solidworks) expertise.
• Experience with fiber optic and laser systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

• Composite material mechanical design experience
• Aerospace mechanical design experience
