Columbia Fruit Packers, formed through the recent merger of three successful family orchards and integrated packing businesses, is a global provider of apples and cherries from regional operations in central Washington. Backed by the Sustainable Investing business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Columbia Fruit Packers is seeking an Area Wide Orchard General Manager (Area Manager - AM) who works at the intersection of horticulture, orchard design, personnel development and leadership to drive superior orchard performance in advanced orchard operations.

Area Managers are key to developing leadership teams, providing vision, giving instruction and measuring performance of all on-site management personnel. The AM will have available the latest in technologies to remotely measure, monitor and activate vast amounts of orchard data and operations.

This position will require independent orchard evaluations while working interdependently with orchard managers to achieve the highest level of premium production using sustainable and regenerative farming. The position will require travel within all growing regions but primarily in the central Columbia Basin. The AM will be expected to continue education by attending Horticulturally focused conferences and meetings throughout Washington State, the US and occasionally internationally.

The Area General Manager will interact with other Area Managers and will report directly to Colombia Orchard Management (COM) General Manager. The AM will have direct interaction with data analyst(s) and Chief Operating Officers as helpful resources for accomplishing duties.

Qualified candidate will have:

1. B.S. Horticulture or 10 years experience in related management position

2. 10 years of work history related to Tree Fruit

3. Experience developing tree fruit orchards

4. Training or high aptitude working in Excel

5. Strong written and communication ability

Preferred candidate will have:

1. B.S. Horticulture and Agronomy

2. 10 years experience in Orchard Management specific to Apples and Cherries

3. 10 years experience developing Orchards from planning stage to full production

4. Fluent in English and Spanish

5. Leadership training
