Qualifications:

  • Primary duties are to pre-stage bulk intermediates, precisely fill containers, quality inspect made-to-stock / made-to-order packaging configurations according to customer requirements.
  • Count, weigh, measure, and quality sample according to prescribed packaging order instructions.
  • Duties also include responsibility for running automated packaging lines (A/B), semiautomated line, manual packaging operations, and specialty kit operations.
  • Additional responsibilities include, inventory accuracy, traceability of inventory movements through matching physical bin locations and electronic locations using SAP transactions.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met through accurate packaging and adherence to quality assurance processes.
  • The ideal candidate will have entry-level experience in material handling and actively demonstrate a commitment to packaging accuracy, teamwork, and an open and honest style of communication.
  • Will also possess the initiative to seek and embrace change, and the ability to improve the company by improving one’s self through establishing and achieving goals High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to pass Henkel Forklift certification within first 30 days.
  • Ability to pass basic mathematics proficiency requirements and skills assessment testing.
  • Must have full command of the English language, which includes reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at routine mathematics, which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • The employee must have excellent attendance record.
  • The employee must be available for rotating or designated shifts and be flexible about working overtime hours as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-stage bulk intermediates precisely fill containers, quality inspect made-to-stock / made-to-order packaging configurations according to customer requirements.
  • Count, weigh, measure, and quality sample according to prescribed packaging order instructions.
  • Inspect and verify material is labeled and that label contains correct batch information in a fast-paced environment
  • Process and verify scheduled packaging orders to include:
  • Pulling Correct Bulk Intermediates
  • Pulling Correct Batch Number(s)
  • Pulling Correct Quantities
  • Handling paperwork involved in packaging orders
  • Effectively resolve discrepancies
  • Impound materials without proper labeling
  • Meet weekly production schedule
  • Coordinate with Planning Department to ensure accurate labeling requirements
  • Follow proper material storage and handling requirements and ensure disposal of hazardous waste materials.
  • Must be able to keep on schedule with minimal supervision, while adjusting to unexpected or unpredicted schedule changes/demand.
  • Take proactive steps to maintain/adjust production schedule in lieu of non-receipt of bulk items, shortages in containers, packaging supplies and may be called upon to notify internal departments to resolve discrepancies real time.
  • Must be able to make timely and accurate SAP updates for recording and reporting purposes within 24-hours of receipt.
  • Cooperate with other departments to ensure the timely packaging of materials is 100% accurate.
  • Requires the precise chemical and physical manipulation of materials and products through the execution of manufacturing instructions, safety procedures, proper waste disposal procedures, standard operating procedures, and other production related documentation.
  • Follow packaging procedures and instructions assuring continued smooth operation of the packaging line to package product efficiently, effectively, and consistently in order to meet daily customer demand schedule, requirements and expectations.
  • Monitor packaging line equipment operation and ensure routine machine check adjustments are made to the process to overcome problems as necessary.
  • Ensure proper assembly of supplies following instructions, while neatly and accurately documenting individual packaging activities on the required paperwork.
  • Maintain equipment supplies which are essential to sustain operations according to lean manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform material handling requirements for the packaging line with the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and a drum handler, as required.
  • Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area and Warehouse at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Demonstrate initiative in making suggestions to improve procedures, offering better ways to meet customer expectations, and ability to bridge ideas into actions with guidance from supervisor.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple individuals and work effectively in a team environment. PAGE 2 OF 2

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to adjust to changes in workflow, prioritize as needed, and meet deadlines.
  • Must maintain high level of energy and professionalism on the job.

  • Ability to gain a complete knowledge of all equipment and SAP software (where required) within the department.
  • Communicate all issues to direct supervisor or logistics management team.
  • Must be able to follow safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • May receive direction and training from other designated personnel.
  • Employees in this position must be able to train others to perform routine tasks.
  • Must adhere to all Henkel Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
