Job Requirements:
Planning and preparing lessons, which includes knowledge of content, setting instructional outlines, and designing coherent instruction to advance student learning.
Assessing students regularly and using assessment results to form instruction and to give feedback to students and parents.
Creating an environment of respect and rapport in the classroom. Establishing and modeling a culture of learning in the classroom.
Managing classroom procedures and student behavior including their peer-to-peer social interactions.
Maintaining a collegial and professional relationship with colleagues. Working collaboratively with colleagues and school administration to further student learning and the total school experience for the students by participating in regular, purposeful meetings and professional development sessions.
Maintaining ongoing communication with parents, in addition to regularly scheduled report cards. This includes regular updates of student progress, academic, and behavioral as well as updating parents of the learning and activities in class.
