Part-time Director Qualified Toddler Assistant Teacher Job at DuPage Montessori School
Job Summary
DuPage Montessori School is seeking a part-time Toddler Director Qualified Assistant Teacher for our program at our Naperville campus. The hourly wage is $17.00 - $25.00 based on experience and qualifications. Current hours are flexible - either 1:00-6:00 pm or 2:00-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This is a permanent 12-month position.
All interested inquiries should have experience in a preschool program. In addition, the candidate needs 21 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three credit hours in Administration, or an Early Childhood Associates Degree, or a Montessori Teaching Certificate. The candidate must also be considered Director Qualified under Day Care Center rules per DCFS. Experience in a Montessori environment is preferred but optional.
Candidates must be reliable and enthusiastic, have a well-groomed appearance, and have strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. Official transcript, background check, and references are required. Current CPR training is a plus. Please submit a resume by email for consideration for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the lead teacher in working with the children.
Engage children in the program and work on ways to enhance their experience.
Interact with children in a friendly, calm, and nurturing manner.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
Straighten up the room at the end of the day.
Attend 15 hours of early childhood professional development.
Help with diapering and toilet training.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in a Montessori environment is a plus.
A passion for working with this age group of children.
Be energetic and quick thinking when leading or assisting with activities.
Candidate needs to be Director Qualified under Day Care Center rules per DCFS.
Candidate should have excellent communication skills.
The candidate must be a team player and maintain a positive attitude.
