Part Time Hillel Chef Job at Hillel UW

Hillel UW Seattle, WA 98105

Hillel, Foundation for Jewish Life at the University of Washington is seeking a part-time Chef. Hillel UW is the local branch of Hillel International*.

Most of our Jewish celebrations include food – and not just traditional Jewish classics. The Hillel Chef will have the opportunity to work with Head Chef Leah Jaffee, voted “Seattle’s Best Kosher Caterer”. Together, the opportunity and challenge is to be creative, try new recipes, and have fun in the kitchen. Students and young adults enjoy the food served at Hillel and look forward to gathering together to eat weekly Shabbat dinners and numerous holiday meals.

Hillel is a kosher facility and is supervised by the Va’ad HaRabbanim of Greater Seattle, or simply “the Va’ad”. Although it is preferred to have someone with experience in Jewish or kosher cuisine, it is not required for an individual who is excited to learn and grow. We are happy to train someone in Kashrut (Kosher) laws, and our new chef will join a team that is collaborative. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves to cook and change things up routinely.
