Part Time Lecturer in Writing Job at New England College
WR 1010 Composition is a first-year writing course that focuses on enhancing skills in critical thinking and analysis of various rhetorical situations. Utilizing composition theories of reading about writing, information literacy, and analysis of genre, students are asked to demonstrate proficiency in written communication. With an emphasis on civics and the natural environment, students will learn how to evaluate, cite, and document primary and secondary research sources, as well as how to develop arguments and support them with sound evidence. Instructors are expected to collaborate with colleagues, utilize shared major assignments and rubrics, and participate in library lessons. However, they are given the opportunity to develop low-stakes writing assignments and in-class lessons that align with their own pedagogical practices.
