GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
This librarian will provide reference assistance and information literacy instruction to library patrons and provide library services in coordination with library staff.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides reference assistance and information literacy instruction to library patrons, including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited program required.
Experience
Experience in an academic library preferred. Proficient reference skills and information literacy instruction experience desired.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication and public service skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and library patrons.
Demonstrated skill with use of current library and educational technologies, and experience with software and hardware used in academic libraries.
Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and work with diverse students, faculty, staff and community clientele.
Additional Information:
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, year-round (including summers) position. Schedule may include evening and weekend hours and travel to campus centers. Transportation is required.
