Key Duties & Responsibility Areas

Monitor the Parts Order Request sheet and fill tech orders in a timely manner (one hour or less) according to the expectations and instruction from the Parts Manager.

Pre-pull parts for Technicians and deliver them to their workstation daily as assigned by the Parts Manager.

Assign shelf space, stock shelves, organize inventory and locations for 100% accuracy and organization on a daily basis. Participate in cycle counting inventory on an ongoing monthly basis.

Monitor the Estimate Request Sheet and complete estimate requests in a timely manner (24 hours or less), UBI (Used Boat Inspections) must be completed within one hour or less whenever possible.

When assigned, accurately and properly receive inventory according to HMG department procedures.

Proficiently navigate Manufacturer and other parts related websites to quickly find necessary parts to fill requests.

Other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.

  • Parts Department Skills:
  • Provide excellent customer service to support retail, internal customers and vendors with equal attention to detail, punctuality and accuracy on all orders.
  • Daily use of computers, specialty software, answering phone calls etc with excellent attention to detail.
  • Read, understand and execute all Parts Department Policies and Procedures on a daily basis.
  • Pick up/deliver parts in the local area as needed/requested by the Parts Manager.

  • Provide and serve customers, both Internal & External with a positive and eager attitude to help.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain a “personalized environment” to obtain positive feedback and stellar customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to work daily with a can-do attitude and as a member of the HMG Team.
  • Participate in any Team building events and promote positive interdepartmental relationships.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Demands:
  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to work 40-44 hours per week, as scheduled.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, which include days, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to walk and stand on your feet for 8-10 hours at a time.
  • Ability to walk up/down stairs carrying boxes.
  • Safely navigate year round local weather conditions.
  • Ability to properly lift up to 60lbs as necessary.
  • Adhere to the company department, desk cleanliness and dress code policies on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Pay is depending on experience.
  • Prior Marine or Automotive Parts counter experience. Shipping & receiving experience is a bonus.
  • Graduation from the manufacturer parts program is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Dockmaster, ERP or Inventory management system preferred but not required.
  • Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one or in a group.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience in Google Workspace preferred, including spreadsheets.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
