Full Time - 40 hours AM Shift APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $24.40 - $30.01 ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Reviews and prepared claims to release the same day as received in work queue. 2. Follows compliant Billing practices for all Commercial/ Managed Care payers. 3. Researches and forwards billing edits/errors for correction(s) to appropriate are/department the same day as identified. 4. Monitors and escalates all unresolved claim edits within 3-5 days to Management. 5. Monitors untimely claims to ensure timely filing limits are met. 6. Verifies claim status through Payer website or via phone in accordance with age/balance follow up criteria set by Patient Accounts Management. 7. Documents account thoroughly to include accurate status information. Work should consistently drive the account towards timely resolution. Insurance demographics including phone number, representative's name and claim number should be include in each note. 8. Sets accurate follow up dates on account and maintains collections flow accordingly. 9. Escalates the account both internally or at the pater when appropriate. In addition notifies Management of any issues that prevent timely collection of claim payments. 10. Analyzes any Commercial/ Managed Care billing issues and provides examples of trends to Management. 11. Completes all assigned Special Projects or Report in time frames specified by Management. 12. Participates in appropriate departmental training and attends scheduled staff meetings. 13. Maintains and fosters effective public relations with patients and payers. 14. Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA regulations. 15. Follows established policies and procedures. 16. Maintains productivity level and quality assurance scores as established by Patient Account Leadership and Best Practice.

Required Qualification: 1. License /Certification N/A 2. Education High school graduate or equivalent preferred 3. Experience One-two years previous Hospital Business Office experience preferred (billing) 4. Skills Excellent customer service skills Attention to detail Proficient in typing [minimum 45 wpm] Knowledge of medical terminology Spanish preferred Vaccine requirement To protect the health of our patients and our health care workers, and to preserve the safety of the St. Rose Hospital healthcare environment, we require all health system employees, trainees, volunteers, and others who regularly work within the health system to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster.
